Fall '18 Panels

We are present. That's the guiding theme behind this year's panels. We'll explore what it means to show up for your business and learning through your craft day-in and day-out—even when it's tough. Get ready for talks and panels featuring creatives and entrepreneurs of all backgrounds and experiences.

The panels are powered by craftHER sponsor Volusion and the stage design will be coordinated by our lovely friends at Party at the Moontower Rentals. These panels are also free and open to the public, and no RSVP is required.

11:30 AM to 12:15 PM — Networking Across: How To Build Collaborations with Your Peers
In a city filled with creatives, entrepreneurs and badass babes, it can still be difficult to figure out ways to truly support one another's work. Curated by #bbatx committee member Keisha Gillis, moderated by Alexandra Wilson of Queens Conquer and joined by panelists Ashton Haywood, Shelley Delayne and Tiffany Scott, this CraftHER Market panel will discuss ways we can network across. What does it mean to collaborate with our peers—instead of only looking for a hand up? The panel will run from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM on the panels stage within CraftHER Market Fall '18.

12:30 to 1:15 PM — E-commerce, Social Media and Burnout: Balancing An Online Business
When you run on an online business, it can often feel like you've got to be "open" 24/7. So, how do you maximize your business' digital potential without completely over-doing it? Curated by #bbatx committee member Kristina Gonzalez, and joined by panelists Monxi Garza, Christie Zangrilli and Bre Cruickshank, this CraftHER Market panel will discuss ecommerce, social media and burnout. The panel will run from 12:30 PM to 1:15 PM on the panels stage within CraftHER Market Fall '18.

1:30 to 2:15 PM — Standing Out in a Saturated Environment: How To Stay Original
What's the difference between appreciation for someone's work and downright stealing someone else's ideas? Curated and moderated by #bbatx committee member Kristina Gonzalez, and joined by panelists Sarah Lim, Stephanie Gutierrez and travel blogger Kiona, this CraftHER Market panel will discuss standing out in a saturated environment. The panel will run from 1:30 PM to 2:15 PM on the panels stage within CraftHER Market Fall '18.

2:30 to 3:15 PM — Artist Q&A with Kam Franklin of The Suffers
Confidence isn't something we're born with—it's something we learn. In this craftHER Market discussion between #bbatx founder Jane Hervey and lead singer of The Suffers, Kam Franklin, we'll explore what it takes to carve a creative career for yourself—on your own terms. This panel will run from 2:30 PM to 3:15 PM on the panels stage within CraftHER Market Fall '18.

3:30 to 4:15 PM — Mindful Makers: A Conversation on Production Growth and Ethics
As we grow our businesses, creative projects and side hustles, we have decisions to make. How do we scale and maintain our core principles? In this craftHER Market discussion curated by #bbatx committee member Alex Perez-Puelles, moderated by Maria Oliveira, and joined by panelists Rae Wilson, ChiChi Nduka and Lauren Gonzalez, we'll explore production growth and ethics. Fall '18 Community Tables

Every year, we invite community groups to table at the market free-of-charge. Stop by their table to learn more about what they do and participate in an activity.

Fall '18 Community Raffle

At every market, we host a little raffle to fundraise for a community-led initiative or nonprofit. (Our raffle prizes are comprised of donations made by vendors participating in craftHER.) To get your name in the raffle, stop by #bossbabesATX’s info table and purchase five tickets for $5 (you’re welcome to grab as many as you’d like)!

This fall’s raffle beneficiary is CASA. CASA of Travis County speaks up for children who’ve been abused or neglected by empowering our community to volunteer as advocates for them in the court system. Beyond donating to the raffle, you can also get involved with this organization as a volunteer. Learn more here.
