spring ‘19 Panels

synergy (noun): the interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations, substances, or other agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects.

How do we create synergy within our projects and within our lives? In these panels, speakers will explore what synergy looks like in creative work, communication and collaboration.

Thanks to our craftHER sponsors Volusion and Tito’s Handmade Vodka, these panels are free and open to the public, with stage design coordinated by our lovely friends at Party at the Moontower Rentals.

12:00 PM to 1:00 PM — Workflow and Family Life
Led by #BBATX committee member Jasmine Robinson, this panel will explore the constraints and pressures parents face in the workforce. How can we design environments and expectations better suited for those of us with children? Speakers include Violeta Mojica Hernandez of Hermanitas Boutique, Jeanne Schultz of Jeanne Schultz Design Studio, Shelley Moon of Shelley Moon Designs and Taylor Huntley of Mama Mangos.

1:00 PM to 2:00 PM — Hobby or Hustle?
These days, it feels like everyone’s got a side hustle and a little idea can easily sprout into something big. What if you want to stay small? What makes you make the decision to move a side hustle into your main hustle? In this discussion, panelists will dig into the pressure many of us face with monetization and business growth. This discussion has been curated by #BBATX committee member Kristina Gonzalez, joined by Meesha Farzaneh of Saffron Soul Textiles, Claire Siegel of The Petite Professional and Chardae Adams of Zetland 855.

2:00 PM to 3:00 PM — Diverse and Inclusive Marketing
In this talk, #BBATX committee member Isabella Toledo will lead a conversation around diverse and inclusive marketing practices. How responsible are we for the audiences our projects and businesses attract? Speakers include TK Tunchez of Las Ofrendas and Frida Fridays ATX, Kelly Dugan of Peach Fuzz magazine and Adriana Arispe of Meer Bra.

3:00 PM to 4:00 PM — Staying Socially Responsible
Moderated by #BBATX committee member Cara Cate, this panel will profile creative leaders who have pursued business ideas and community projects with social good in mind. Speakers include Elie Wu of The Mahala Project, Tina Sparkles with IMMEDIATE Fashion School and Yvonne Keyrouz of The Seam Project.

4:00 PM to 5:00 PM — Don't Compare Your Creativity
Comparison is the thief of joy and original creativity. In this discussion, #BBATX committee member Cynthia Munoz will interview different creatives about their approach to competition and collaboration. Speakers include curator and gallerist Sarah Castillo, Mel of Grow Your Lovespace and Monica Valenzuela of Decussate Magazine.

spring ‘19 Community Raffle

At every market, we host a little raffle to fundraise for a community-led initiative or nonprofit. (Our raffle prizes are comprised of donations made by vendors participating in craftHER.) To get your name in the raffle, stop by #bossbabesATX’s info table and purchase five tickets for $5 (you’re welcome to grab as many as you’d like)!

This raffle will benefit one of #BBATX’s resident artists and committee members, Jinni J. A photographer and creative entrepreneur, Jinni J is a bright light in this community who has collaborated within craftHER Market and #bossbabesATX for four years. She was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and this year’s raffle proceeds will help her with the diagnosis’ unprecedented medical bills.
